Acts of War...NOT Crimes

We’ve passed another Sept 11 (knock on wood) with no attacks against America.

During the 90s America was attacked repeatedly by a group who had declared war against America, but we seemed unaware of the declaration. In 1993, the World Trade Center bombing, then the 1995 military training center bombing in Saudi Arabia, then in 1996 the attacks on Khobar Towers, then in 1998 the bombing of the U.S. East African embassies, then in 2000 the attack on the U.S.S. Cole all passed while America’s leaders remained oblivious.

Dumb luck stepped in halting other attempts in 1995 (Project Bojinka) and again on Jan 2, 2000 as a explosive laden boat sunk on its journey to bomb the USS the Sullivans.

The only successful criminal intervention halted the 1993 plot to bomb the UN, our FBI Building and the Lincoln and Holland Tunnel. In 1993 the FBI halted the plot after they were able to re-infiltrate the cell with a informant named Emad Salem. The only problem was the FBI had fired Salem the year before, June 1992, after he’d first infiltrated the group who eventually bombed the trade center on Feb, 26 1993. Can you say.. egg on their “criminal investigation” face?
When such attacks occurred over the last decade, U.S. officials avoided the term "war." Their response? Quickly dispatch the FBI to identify, capture and prosecute the terrorists. This strategy has repeatedly been proven wrong as evidenced by the lack of success during the Clinton years. During the 8 year Clinton term only 29 terrorists were captured for prosecution (a number matched and surpassed nearly daily since President Bush put us on the offensive).
Worse yet, the cost America paid for the convictions was we turned over a treasure trove of National Security secrets to those seeking our demise during the “discovery” portion of the trials. These discovery rules are mandated within our judicial system. In fact, during “discovery” in the trial of the Blind Sheikh a list of co-conspirators was turned over to the defense with Usama bin Laden’s name. Bin Laden received the “notification” (discovery was in 1994) nearly as quickly as the Blind Sheikh.

When others claim we had “no legal justification” to indict bin Laden after the Sudanese offered him in 1996, consider this co-conspirator “notification.” It exposes another of the many successfully spread lies by leftists propagandists as they simultaneously root against an American victory in Iraq.

As unpopular as this may make me with the leftist propagandists I would like to send out a huge thank you to President George W. Bush for having the gonads to take the fight to the terrorists. How many on Sept 12, 2001 would have believed on Sept 12, 2008 our success at thwarting al Qaeda’s attempts while we demoralized and decimated them physically and financially?

Our troops have given us much to be proud of.

Obama? O'bomb-a?

Barack Obama claims to transcend old style politics. He says he represents “change America can believe in.” What about his record?

Obama appears to be an extremely savvy politician, able to present a “change” perception through a calculated strategy of taking the position of rarely taking a position. As editor for the Harvard Law Review Obama never wrote a editorial, nor did he provide any archival writings from his years in that position. After being elected State Senator in Illinois Obama voted “present” 129 times on key issues. Unfortunately the position of President does not lend itself to making “present” votes. I believe Obama’s history, or lack therein, is part of a well thought out, calculated plan, necessary to keep his radical agenda and belief system from the American public.

However Obama has been unable to obscure from scrutiny his past associations to black separatist theology, convicted felons tied to good ole boy Chicago politics, and most damning, leaders of the domestic terror group Weather Underground, Bernadine Dohrne and William Ayers who on Sept 11, 2001 (of all days) claimed they didn‘t bomb enough in the NY Times.

George Stephanopoulos questioned Obama during the Hillary debate on ABC about Ayers. Obama arrogantly dismissed the mention of his association as a “distraction” from the key issues. Again when asked by Bill O’Reilly Obama said, “I know thousands of people,” and “This guy did something despicable 40 years ago,” and then my favorite, “we’re getting too far a field,” and finally, “it is classic guilt by association.”

Obama’s entire campaign is now being run by saying McCain/ Palin are just like George Bush, guilt by association, McSame, McBush and the like. Obama’s assertions claiming his unique new form of politics, followed by his own guilt by association “entitles” Obama’s opposition the “O’bomb-a-Same.”

Yes Mr. Obama it is classic guilt by association. Most Americans do not know domestic terrorists, do not kick off their political careers in the homes of domestic terrorists, and do not admit to being “friendly” with domestic terrorists.

I watched Jim Lehrer interview McCain’s fellow POW and supporter during the Republican convention. Lehrer observed the Congressional Medal of Honor hanging from the man’s neck. He then told how he’d watched John McCain dragged past his cell through a peep hole, dragging broken limbs from torture sessions, limbs trailing behind a soldier’s unbroken spirit as indicated by a extended thumb and a wry grin.

I realized something as I heard that POW’s story. While that Congressional Medal of Honor recipient was watching McCain drag past his cell, Barack Obama’s admitted unrepentant terrorist friend, Bill Ayers, was busy plotting terrorist acts against our country, eventually bombing our Capital and Pentagon.

Its gonna be a tough decision-NOT.
